Here's how these trackers help keep tabs on your child's location, what features matter most, and answers to the questions every parent has when considering GPS tracking.
Here's what you'll learn:

- Must-have features of child GPS trackers, like real-time location updates, panic buttons, and sensory-friendly designs.
- Top-rated GPS trackers for kids, so you can find one that suits your child's unique needs.

I like how I can see my daughter and listen in at school. The battery is decent, and customer service is nice and fast. The monthly payment is like a phone, but it's worth it.
Battery life is dismal. Audio is charged separately by the minute and is not included in the already overly expensive subscription of $538. In the end, you have a tracker for $60 + a subscription for $538 = $700 for a tracker plus additional audio charges. There are so many better options on the market with better accuracy, better battery life, and cheaper subscriptions.
Editor's note: the $538 figure matches AngelSense's annual plan ($44.99/mo billed yearly, ≈$540/year) — this reviewer appears to have been on the annual plan rather than a monthly one.

It uses Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular, and GPS together for the best balance of accuracy and battery life, running on a 5G-compatible network with a secure connection.
Standout features and specs of the Jiobit:
- Real-time tracking. Real-time tracking, notifications, and location history to keep tabs on your child's whereabouts.

I love this. I used this when my child was across the country with his father, and I felt so secure knowing where he was, if, god forbid, something happened. It worked amazingly; just be sure to charge every night. I love that you can add and remove people to track your child's location (babysitter, teacher, etc.).
This isn't a great tracker for pets. We had one for our cat, and the location was never accurate. He would say he was down the street when he was trotting through our front door. Also, it ultimately fell off with his breakaway collar and was never to be found again. It was fully charged, and the app kept telling us it was in one spot that it definitely wasn't — the location then kept moving about even though it wasn't attached to anything anymore. The "ring" feature rarely worked; we couldn't hear anything, even though it was supposedly right around us. I was disappointed with this product.

I was worried the face was going to be too big, but it fits perfectly on the 8-year-old's wrist. The watch is easy to use for an 8-year-old and still works for the 10-year-old. I purchased two. No issues with the GPS; easy to communicate with the kids.
The smallest splash of water will break it. Websites say IP67 rating; this is a lie. Watch got wet washing hands and now won't work. The website's rating is submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. There is no way this is possible with this watch. GPS is nowhere near accurate. Can show miles away from the actual location.
9 Child Safety Tips For Keeping Your Kids Safe
This image was created using AI
- Stay with a trusted adult in public places, especially crowded areas, to reduce the risk of getting lost or separated.
- Memorize your full name, address, and phone number, in case you need to provide this information to someone if you get lost. About 90% of missing children have run away from home, and 40% of those are at risk of being sex trafficked or lured into prostitution.
- Have a plan for what to do if you get lost or separated from your family, and practice this plan together.
- Stick to well-lit and populated areas, especially when walking or biking alone. About 70% of child abductions by strangers involve the use of physical force.
- Never accept a ride from a stranger, even if they seem friendly or offer candy or toys. Roughly 34% of child abductions by strangers involve the use of a vehicle.
- Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity or people to a trusted adult or authority figure. Only about 1 in 5 children abducted by strangers are released unharmed.
- Avoid talking to strangers online or sharing personal information, including your name, age, or location. In 2020, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's Cyber Tipline received over 21.7 million reports of online child exploitation.
- Trust your instincts and speak up if you feel uncomfortable or threatened by someone's behavior. The first three hours after a child goes missing are the most critical for finding them safe.
- Stay connected with your parents or guardians, and let them know where you are and who you're with at all times. Roughly 60% of child abductions by strangers occur within a quarter-mile of the child's home.
